JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florida coach Kevin O’Sullivan surveyed the sphere final fall in an exhibition recreation towards Georgia. He noticed the opponent had older, extra skilled gamers. Then, he regarded again to his dugout. He noticed youth. He noticed inexperience.
“I didn’t actually realize it till I noticed it in that recreation,” O’Sullivan recalled. “That had like seven of their 9 hitters had been fifth-year gamers or grad college students. I’m taking a look at it, and I’m going, the common age of our lineup was 19 and a half, I believe, at that time. You recognize, it makes an enormous distinction.”
