The Utah Jazz and New York Knicks had made progress on a Donovan Mitchell commerce in latest days earlier than RJ Barrett agreed to a four-year extension price as much as $120 million.
The Jazz should not severely engaged on a Mitchell commerce now with another groups, which will increase the opportunity of him remaining on the roster for the beginning of coaching camp. Neither Utah nor New York is ruling out restarting the talks earlier than the beginning of coaching camps in late September, sources stated.
The Knicks and Jazz have been discussing a commerce on and off since early July.
For Barrett to be included in a commerce to the Jazz, the Knicks would want to discover a third workforce with salary-cap area to redirect Evan Fournier.
